Victoria's new workplace bullying laws will include stalking

The Victorian Government has introduced a Bill extending the crime of stalking to include workplace bullying. The new law is not specifically targeted at employers but it does have implications for employers when and if it becomes law?
With the new laws in place employers would need to take workplace bullying even more seriously than at present by:
-
having appropriate policies to deal with workplace bullying,
-
making sure that policies are effectively communicated to staff, and
-
going back over policies to see whether they sufficiently deal with the types of workplace bullying covered in the new laws.
The full overview of these changes can be obtained from a podcast and/or transcript posted to Mondaq by Clayton Utz.
