Tas gateway port at risk

The Tasmanian Government has been warned to invest in Hobart's ailing port.
It is risking at losing all claim to the capital being the gateway to Antarctica.
Hobart is the headquarters of Australia's Antarctic program and hosts French research activities.
The Antarctic sector contributes at least $149 million a year to the state economy and employs more than 830 Tasmanians.
The Opposition Leader says the Government has neglected the port for years.
The Federal Government has been asked for $25 million.
State-owned Tasports has flagged long-term plans to redevelop Macquarie Wharf 2 into an Antarctic cargo facility.
