Vodafone sacks staff over database breaches

Vodafone has fired several staff in NSW for breaking into databases to steal customer information.
The company says it will keep investigating whether the password to its customer database has been sold to criminals or misused, following media revelations its database security is lax.
''The employment of a number of staff members has been terminated and Vodafone has contacted the NSW Police while its investigation continues,'' the company said in a statement yesterday.
