The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has taken legal action against MSY Technology and four of its related companies for providing false or misleading information about warranties.
MSY and its sister companies sell computers, electronic goods and software in Melbourne, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
ACCC has claimed it made false or misleading representations about consumers' warranty rights. This breached the Trade Practices Act.
The matter is due to be heard in the Federal Court later this month.
