OHS: State vs Federal
Thursday 14 October 2010 @ 4.01 p.m. | Legal Research
Prime Minister has attacked the NSW Government for backing away from a
national agreement on occupational health and safety (OHS) reform.
NSW Premier says the proposed changes would erode the
rights of unions and weaken protections for workers.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard says NSW already signed up to the changes,
and the state should honour the agreement.
NSW Premier has agreed to the overwhelming majority of the changes that have been proposed but the legislation is not required to be enacted until the end of next year.
