Franchise laws in Western Australia are poised for change.

Some franchisees claiming to have been mistreated and ripped off by parent companies, regulatory change can't come soon enough.

A Bill will be introduced to parliament aimed at boosting the prospects of franchise owners by improving the state's legislation. Among the recommendations are a statutory duty of good faith clause, as well as financial penalties for franchisors who breach the Franchising Code of Conduct.
