New Australian Consumer Law: Key Things to Know

In an article just added to Mondaq by leading law firm DLA Phillips Fox gives a very good overview of 10 things you or your business need to know about the new Australian Consumer Legislation.
As the article says the "Minister for Competition Policy and Consumer Affairs described the Australian Consumer Law as the most comprehensive change to the Trade Practices Act since its inception in 1974."
The article, covers 10 key things, including: unfair terms in standard form consumer contracts, the ACCC's wide range of new enforcement powers, the definition of a 'consumer' and the change to 'implied warranties' which will become 'consumer guarantees' and changes to their contents and more.
