Wednesday 29 January 2025 @ 2.20 p.m.
The Energy and Resources Point-in-Time Service has been updated to include the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Safety) Regulations 2024 (Cth), Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Legislation (Repeal and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2024 (Cth), and Treasury Laws Amendment (Fairer for Families and Farmers and Other Measures) Act 2024 (Cth) (Act No 136 of 2024).
Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Safety) Regulations 2024
The purpose of the Regulations is to remake the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Safety) Regulations 2009 (Cth) in substantially the same form with amendments to ensure consistency with current
drafting practices and simplifying language.
The aim of the Regulations is to ensure that offshore petroleum and greenhouse gas
storage activities are undertaken in a way that reduces the risks to the health and
safety of persons at or near facilities, including persons undertaking diving operations,
to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable.
Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Legislation (Repeal and Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2024
The Regulations repeal the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Safety) Regulations 2009 (Cth), and make consequential amendments to other regulations to support the commencement of the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Safety) Regulations 2024 (Cth).
Act 136 of 2024
This Act makes various and substantive amendments relating to the cessation of the Modernising Business Registers (MBR) Program, information and safety standards, Housing Australia, industry codes, taxation, corporations, financial services and foreign acquisitions and takeovers, and for other purposes.
The new amendments have been updated in the Point-in-Time Energy and Resources Service current to 29 January 2025. (NB: Subscription required).
