Love Knot Jewellery Not a Patent Infringement

New York based Adwar Casting Co, a jewellery casting company, has had a patent-infringement action against it brought by diamond producer De Beers, dismissed.

The infringement action by De Beers alleged that “love knot” jewellery castings made by Adwar (and 2 other defendants) infringed design patents in the “Everlon Love Knot Collection” held by De Beers. Adwar Casting claimed it had been selling “love knot” castings for 30 years and that it had the right to continue to manufacture and sell the castings. See De Beers UK Ltd v Adwar Casting Co, 4:10-cv- 00843-GAF, US District Court, Western District of Missouri (Kansas City).
